On March 11, former President Donald Trump filed a motion for an adjournment of trial and to exclude evidence of his official acts based on presidential immunity in the criminal case against him in New York relating to hush money payments to Stormy Daniels.

According to the filing, Trump is requesting that the trial be adjourned pending the Supreme Court’s review of the scope of presidential immunity doctrine in Trump v. United States. The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral argument in that case on April 25.

Trump argues that any of the prosecution’s evidence of his official acts should be precluded at trial pending the Court’s review. Trump also requests that once the Supreme Court has issued a decision regarding the scope of the presidential immunity doctrine, the admissibility of the evidence in question should be measured against the Court’s determined standard.
