President Donald Trump named Army Chief of Staff Mark Milley as the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, says CNN. Trump also announced on Saturday that White House Chief of Staff John Kelly will vacate his position at the end of the year, reports the New York Times.

President Donald Trump named Army Chief of Staff Mark Milley as the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, says CNN. Trump also announced on Saturday that White House Chief of Staff John Kelly will vacate his position at the end of the year, reports the New York Times.


British Prime Minister Theresa May has cancelled a vote on an agreement allowing Britain to exit the EU, reports the BBC. May has stated she will return to Brussels for further negotiations.


French President Emmanuel Macron has announced a minimum wage hike and tax concessions in response to weeks of violent protests in France, according to the BBC. France has also opened an investigation into possible Russian interference with the protests, after Russia-linked social media accounts targeted the protests, reports Bloomberg News.


Maria Butina, gun-rights activist and alleged Russian agent, is expected to plead guilty to charges on which she was indicted in July related to her involvement in an alleged conspiracy to infiltrate American political organizations to further Russian interests, says the Washington Post.


A source recounted the violent final moments of journalist Jamal Khashoggi to CNN. Khashoggi was murdered inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
