Ismail Abukar

Ismail Abukar is chairperson of the Organization for Prisoners’ Rights in Mogadishu, Somalia, served as Somalia’s Youth Representative to the African Union from 2019 to 2021, and holds an MA in International Law and Human Rights from the University for Peace. His work has been published in African Arguments, Horn Observer, and Pambazuka News, and cited by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and the U.S. State Department.
