The R Street Institute is seeking a Communications Director to help design and implement strategies that amplify R Street’s research, strengthen relationships with media partners, and position the organization as a trusted voice in public policy conversations. This person will also play a key role in staff development, workflow improvement, and coordination across Communications, Policy, and External Affairs functions to advance R Street’s visibility and mission. This role will serve as part of the communications department.

This is a full-time position that can either work the majority of the week in our D.C. office or be fully remote. Occasional travel may be required for events and conferences. The salary range for this position is $115,000-$135,000, commensurate with experience.

Protect Democracy is urgently hiring a contract policy specialist to support our National Security team. This temporary role will support our work with retired national security leaders in high-stakes litigation and public advocacy; expertise on the domestic use of military force and personnel; and other cutting-edge legal, policy, and communication projects.

We are looking for candidates with at least three years experience in policy, research, or organizing relating to U.S. national security who are available to start by September 1. The contract will run through the end of the year, with a possibility of extension. Contractors can work from anywhere within the United States.

Harvard Law School is offering the National Security Law & Policy Initiative (NSLPI) Fellowship, with the appointment expected to commence in late August or early September 2026. The fellowship is designed to support a promising national security law scholar with a strong academic record, has a desire to teach and the potential for success on the legal academic job market. Eligible candidates must possess a J.D., LL.M or S.J.D. degree. More information on the fellowship and to apply can be found here. The Institute for Law & AI is hiring for its inaugural Law & AI Academic Fellowship.

The Law & AI Academic Fellowship is intended as an alternative to university-sponsored Visiting Assistant Professor or law fellow positions for legal scholars wishing to pursue a career in U.S. legal academia. Our goal is to prepare fellows for the U.S. legal academic job market by providing them with the time and resources to produce high-quality, impactful academic research as part of a larger academic application package. Fellows should expect to spend the majority of the fellowship researching and writing articles for publication in law journals.

The R Street Institute is seeking a Policy Director to lead our Finance and Insurance program. The position reports to the Vice President for Policy Partnerships and Government Affairs. This role will lead the Finance and Insurance program within R Street’s Policy department.

This is a full-time position that can either work the majority of the week in our D.C. office or be fully remote. Occasional travel will be required to engage with policymakers and donors and to attend events and conferences. The salary range for this position is $190,000-$200,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

The George Washington University Law School seeks applications for a one-year graduate fellowship, specializing in privacy and technology law, beginning as early as July 1, 2026, with the possibility of renewal for a second year.
