We are pleased to announce that the Lawfare Institute—publisher of information and insight at the intersection of national security, law, and policy—is now accepting Fall 2027 internship applications for a paid internship. This is a hybrid position with opportunities for coworking in Washington, D.C. Applications for this internship will be accepted on a rolling basis. The application period will close on Nov. 23, 2026, at midnight EST.

The R Street Institute is seeking a collaborative Senior Fellow for its Energy and Environment program. This person will produce research and written work on market-driven approaches to disaster mitigation; educating state and federal legislators on potential efficient environmental regulations; present at events on water scarcity policies managed through clearer water rights and markets rather than mandates; engage with the media; and coordinate with allies, both in the EcoRight space and the wider environmental community. 

This is a full-time position that can either work the majority of the week in our D.C. office or be fully remote. Some travel is required, including to Washington, D.C. and state capitals. The salary range for this position is $160,000–$170,000, commensurate with experience.

Harvard Law School is offering the National Security Law & Policy Initiative (NSLPI) Fellowship, with the appointment expected to commence in late August or early September 2026. The fellowship is designed to support a promising national security law scholar with a strong academic record, has a desire to teach and the potential for success on the legal academic job market. Eligible candidates must possess a J.D., LL.M or S.J.D. degree. More information on the fellowship and to apply can be found here. The R Street Institute is seeking a collaborative Senior Fellow for its Finance and Insurance policy program. This person will research and write policy papers, op-eds, and regulatory comments on consumer credit, fintech, property and casualty insurance, capital formation, housing affordability, and financial fraud prevention; brief congressional staff and regulators on banking legislation; engage with national and local media; and coordinate with the Government Affairs and Communications teams to reach audiences ranging from the general public to expert stakeholders.
