Tricia Bacon
Tricia Bacon is a professor at American University’s School of Public Affairs and School of International Service, and is also a nonresident senior associate with the Transnational Threats Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. She was formerly a foreign affairs officer at the U.S. State Department. She is the co-author of “Terror in Transition: Leadership and Succession Terrorist Organizations” (Columbia University Press, 2022) and author of “The Counterinsurgency Dilemma: Foreign Fighter Influence on Insurgencies in Afghanistan and Somalia” (Stanford University Press, 2026).
