On Sept. 14, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff released two letters to Acting Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Joseph Maguire regarding a whistleblower complaint determined by the intelligence community's inspector general to be of "urgent concern." According to Schiff, the complaint concerns "confidentially and potentially privileged communications by persons outside the Intelligence Community and the ODNI refused to rule out that the underlying conduct relates to an area of active investigation by the Committee, raising serious concerns that the whistleblower complaint is being withheld to protect the President or other Administration officials."

Maguire has not released the underlying information to the committee despite a statutory requirement to do so. In response, the committee has issued a subpoena.

The letters are available here, here and below.
